Moodle

The long-established open-source learning platform: courses, assignments, quizzes and grades.

Does it fit your team?

Consider it if
You want courses, assignments, quizzes and grades in one system, and someone on your team can run a web server, PHP and a database.
Look elsewhere if
Nobody on the team can maintain a server, or you plan to sell hosting, training or support under the Moodle name.

What to watch out for
The name is a trademark

"Moodle" is a registered trademark. Without written permission you cannot use the name to sell hosting, training, support or customization; that permission usually goes to official partners only. Saying your own organization runs Moodle is fine.
